Ali is the friend of Allah’ in Arabic); to right, above, and left, ‘bism – Allāh – al-karīm’ (‘In the name of Allah, the Generous’ in Arabic); in the margin, ‘Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammad’ (‘O Allah! Bless Muhammad’ in Arabic), followed by the names of the twelve Shiʿa imams.
